It was originally intended that this book should, along with traditional syntactic problems, also include materials on new methods in linguistics. But some time ago it became apparent that it would not be feasible, from purely technical point of view, to arrange the whole bulk of material within one single volume. Therefore, it has been decided to reset it in separate volumes. The present book, because of its specified nature, and in view of the mentioned above, contains a selection of phenomena on the Syntax of English.
