Language Assessment Theory with Practice addresses pre-service and in-service language teachers. Comprised of twelve chapters, the book includes core concepts that are prevalent in the realm of language assessment. The chapters include perspectives in assessment, types of tests, reliability, validity, and essentials of testing, and assessment of receptive and productive skills, mastery/competency-based assessment, alternative assessment in foreign language classrooms, assessment of young EFL learners, and new trends in the 21st century. Not to be overlooked is the area of e-assessments in language teaching, that makes up the remaining contents of the book.
A number of prestigious authors with experience of teaching and publishing on language assessment, have jointly contributed to the book's development. It is hoped that language teachers and teacher trainees will equally benefit from the book.

Prof. Dr. Birsen TÜTÜNİŞ
